Oral hygiene is very important to your overall general health. Poor oral hygiene can lead to a variety of dental and medical problems such as gum disease, infection, bone loss, heart disease, stroke, and more. Semi-annual examinations and cleanings by your Dentist and Hygienist can prevent these problems. Our hygienists are trained to reach places you cannot and clean more thoroughly than you can with a toothbrush and floss alone.

Mouthguards & Bite Appliances:
Your teeth can be damaged easily, so it?s important to protect them from harm. At Colchester Dental, we can fit athletes with sports guards to protect their teeth during physical activity and, if you experience nighttime grinding or clenching, we can fit you with a special night guard that will protect your teeth from breaking down while you sleep. We are pleased to use DIAGNOdent technology.
Invisalign Invisible Braces:
Colchester Dental is pleased to be an Invisalign Preferred Supplier.
Invisalign takes a modern approach to straightening teeth, using a custom-made series of aligners create for you and only you. Our team at Colchester Dental has extensive experience working with Invisalign with children, teens, and adults.
The aligner trays are made of smooth, comfortable, and virtually invisible plastic that you simply wear over your teeth. Wearing aligners will gradually and gently shift your teeth into place, based on the the exact movements that Colchester Dental plan out for you.
If your tooth is damaged (broken or cracked) but not lost, a crown can be used to restore its function, shape and appearance.? You also may need a crown if you have had a root canal or a large filling.
A bridge is a restoration option that replaces one or two missing teeth.? Your ?bridge will extend across the area where the teeth are missing and is made up of an artificial tooth or teeth fused between two crowns. The bridge will be held in place by your own teeth on each side of the missing ones.? A bridge is fixed and permanent and cannot be removed
A partial is a removable tooth replacement option that replaces one or more missing teeth. There are three distinct types of partials (Valplast Partial Denture, Acrylic [Hard] Plastic Denture, and Cast Metal) and our Dentists will work with you to determine which one best fits your needs.
Dentures are artificial replacements for your natural teeth and gums when total arch (upper or lower) replacement is required.
A root canal is required when the nerve of your tooth becomes infected.? Root canal treatment lets you keep the tooth rather than have it extracted.? Keeping your teeth helps prevent other teeth from drifting into the missing areas and causing jaw problems.? Saving a natural tooth avoids having to replace it with an artificial tooth in the future.
Nitrous Oxide is a sedative agent, which is mixed with oxygen and inhaled through a small mask. Otherwise known as “laughing gas” it is a used to make nervous patients more comfortable during certain procedures. The gas works immediately, and once the mask is removed, the effects wear off within minutes. We are pleased to offer Nitrous Oxide as a sedation method to those who are deemed suitable candidates by our Doctors.
